This year with a start of CES introducing lots of new stuff and other floating rumors about Apple’s upcoming products, joining them is Aliph, no other than the creator of one of the best bluetooth headsets available in the market, just released a new model, the Jawbone ICON. It incorporates a new Noise Assassin 2.5 technology, a “talking” headset and battery indicator specially on the iPhone.
The current ICON model just seems weird (in the picture) in terms of design, to be honest, I prefer the old Jawbone 2 / Prime model. The headset is also smaller and has six different styles. I do like that Aliph finally decided to adopt microUSB as their charging port.
Other than the special battery indicator icon that appear on the iPhone, Aliph included a new feature with an additional software, MyTalk, it allows you to configure the “personality” of the headset, one contact number as a quick dial and some other features that I am not sure if it can be done on the iPhone, have to try it before I make any assumptions. Last but not least, the pricing has went down from the usual $130 to $100.
If you’re currently looking for a bluetooth headset, I highly recommend Aliph products, maybe you spotted a deal with the Jawbone 2 / Prime somewhere or you can go with the latest model, Jawbone ICON (read the Engadget review of Jawbone ICON). You can read my review of Jawbone 2 over at my previous blog. I wanted to add that I have tried using the Jawbone 2 in a road construction site as well as beside a diesel generator and its performance is amazing. If you happen to use the jawbone, drop us a comment to share your experience.
