Share images/videos/contacts with Mover+ app

This app is a must have if you like to share images with others, well it is still limited between iPhone users (until Apple approve otherwise). The app is called Mover. There are both the free and paid version of the app, which the latter include capability of transferring files via bluetooth, whereas the free version only limited to WiFi connection. Currently, it is only able to transfer contacts and images/videos that are in your photo album. It also offers unique experience while executing the transfer.

After you launch the app, you are presented with an empty “table” in which you can things to it. You tap the ‘+’ button at the bottom left to select which item to be added to the table. On iPhone 3Gs, you are able to share pictures, videos and contacts as opposed to iPhone 3G only limited to pictures and contacts (although it can accept the videos shared by iPhone 3Gs).

As you can see in the image above, you will have an indicator of where your friends’ iPhone whereabout. All you have to do is flick the items you want to send to that direction. Can it be any cooler that this? No more boring going through menu, send via bluetooth or such, but if you do prefer going through menu to send the items, you can do that by tapping the “Edit” button, tap the blue action button on the item and you will have a “Send” option.

At the receiving end, there not much to be explained. During the transfer, you will see a new item pop up on your “table” and a progress bar on it until it’s completed.

You can add/remove the items on the table by tapping the “Edit” button at the bottom, then tap each item and select appropriate option to remove it or you can shake your iPhone to remove all item at once.

With the paid version of the app, Mover+, you are able to share images/videos and contacts via bluetooth. It is useful when the place you hang out don’t provide a hotspot. You can activate bluetooth from within the app, then it will try to discover nearby iPhones and executing the transfer is done the same way when using WiFi connection.

Though the free version of the app is limited to WiFi transfer, the developer is kind enough to include the capability to receive items via bluetooth when sent from users who has Mover+.

I only hope that Apple will allow bluetooth transfer to other mobile phones since it can only access pictures/videos and contacts which contain no DRM whatsoever. We’ll just have to see what the next generation iPhone OS brings to the table. In the meantime, Mover+ is the app to share contents between iPhone users.
