I came across a lot of iPhone users who ask why don’t I jailbreak my iPhone? My response is always the same, why do you need to? Some people have answers, some don’t. For the latter, they usually don’t have the slightest idea what it’s for. I personally never really explore the jailbreak world and never feel the need to. The only reason why I need to jailbreak is that I still own the original iPhone and I need it to be unlocked, other than that, I see no reason why.
I find the App Store already offer more than I can take and the fact that there’s around 250,000 apps available, even if only 10% of them are useful, it’s 25,000 apps, pretty sure you can find a few that suit you, I hope.
For those who do jailbreak their iPhone, what is it that make you want it? Is it all just to get “free” apps? Really? Is it a certain feature that’s only available in jailbreak mode? I’m curious what users actually do in jailbreak mode, what make me even more surprise is that there’s even paid apps available. So, please tell me in the comments why do you jailbreak your iPhone?
Yesterday, I met with a friend who made a comment why he does not want to use an iPhone just because he was informed by users that the iPhone do not have the feature, WHAT THE …? Surprisingly, it is not just one person but 3-4 people told him that.
Guess what? It exists on iPhone as it is a standard known as Sim toolkit, which on iPhone is known as sim applications.
To use this feature, go to “Settings” – “Phone” – “Sim Applications”. Inside, you will find your bank of choice (if you already registered for mobile banking).
Please share this little tip to all iPhone users.
iTunes is the must have app for all digital media lovers, it plays musics, videos, podcasts, audiobooks, online radios and the iTunes store is one stop shopping for all the above and that include the App Store. When iPhone is announced, iTunes is the only software to manage contents on it, it lets you synchronized contacts, calendars, emails, musics, videos, podcasts, audiobooks and also store your purchased applications in a separate section.
Apart from some people who don’t know that iPhone has an App Store, with more than 140.000 apps available, a lot more don’t know that they can share and authorize a single iTunes account with up to 5 computers to let them play or view or install items purchased from the iTunes store (and that also include apps from the App Store).

If you are a fond of customizing your ringtones, here is the steps to create iphone ringtones with just using iTunes.
First, choose the song and mark the position (in seconds) to be extracted as the ringtone (keep in mind that Apple restrict the length of the ringtone to 40 seconds, though I find it best to use 39 seconds).
Then make sure in iTunes preference you are using the AAC encoder for its import settings. You can know it by right clicking one of the songs and will see “Create AAC Version”, “Create MP3 Version” or other encoder settings.

Most of the people I have met who are new to iPhone always assume that the iPhone can only run a single app each time. Well, that is not entirely true, you are able to do certain multitasking on your iPhone. It is true that third party apps are not allow to run simultaneously, so I can tell you that the multitasking I found is always either a pair of the built-in iPhone app or between a built-in iPhone app and a third party app.
Here is the list that I know of:

Once in a while you are browsing the internet for some interesting article, you might stumble on a site that is written in foreign language that you don’t understand, or maybe your twitter client does not have a translate feature, once again, do not fear, it is as easy as launching another app. There is a lot of translator apps available at App Store, both paid and free. I must say that all the free version I have tried requires online connections and use the well known Google translator API. I personally like “Free Translator” app at the App Store and it is one of the few that supports so many languages (the paid version is available for $1).
